When we decided that we were better than them and endorsed this with our story of our divine inheritance we condemned all our animal kin and ourselves to centuries of pain and this is never as intense and widespread as it is today.

This belief in our god given and evolutionary superiority split us off from the wholeness that is life. Even before this humanity has possessed a brutality that separates us. Sure some other animals have to inflict pain on others, because like it or not, life depends on the food chain. But humans have tortured and shackled and exploited other animals from very early times, not for food, but mostly to fight wars. It's and ancient and complex relationship that reverberates through all of time right up to today.
You are in that relationship, you cannot escape it. As modern humans we have advanced to some degree from our brutish ancestors, but the brutality is still manifest but less visible. With the complexity of modern life it permeates every aspect of how we live.
Our entire way of being depends on the oppression, suffering, torture and exploitation of our animal kin.

We have given ourselves this position of privilege due to the 'fact' that we are superior beings, a 'fact' based entirely on our own criteria and only our perspective. Do you think they share this view of us?​
The Sentience Revolution is Our Awakening
There is an ancient African story that prophesises that the animals will save humanity from their self-inflicted demise. I can't find the origins of this, but I believe it, in my heart and from my life lived in the Borderland, the place beyond the limit of the modern human experience, where talking with animals happens, where the numinosity of Nature uplifts and where the eternal Wild Heart beats, that this is true. I believe that our salvation lies in reclaiming our wild well being through right relationship with our animal kin. They know more than we can ever fathom and they are calling us to join them and to open our hearts and minds so we can evolve in the only direction that restores our wild well being and theirs.

This is their revolution, they hold the key, they know themselves, they know life, they know earth better than us, SENTIENCE is theirs to know and to define not ours to bestow. We are beings intertwined for eternity. They are our brothers and sisters, our ancestors and our salvation.

For change to become reality it has to first exist as a possibility in the universal field that I know as the Wild Heart. We gather and commune in this field with our animal kin to join with them in manifesting the possibility they have held for so long and that so many of us crave.
Even when domesticated, animals embody a spirit that reconnects us to the wholeness of existence. By nurturing these relationships, we embark on a path of transformative psychological healing, fostering balance within ourselves and the broader ecosystem. This awakening leads to a significant paradigm shift, allowing us to adopt a way of being that champions the well-being of all living beings- our beloved companions, the planet, and humanity as a whole. In this sacred embrace of the Wild Heart, we honour the intricate web that sustains us, paving the way for mutual respect and coexistence in harmony with the earth's diverse forms of life. Through this interbeingness, we nurture a future where all beings can thrive together.
